Environmental Assessment on Line 9 now!

The National Energy Board, the federal body tasked with approving pipelines, has rubber-stamped Enbridge’s Line 9 proposal. The project is expected to go online by the end of the year. Until then, we will continue to resist!

The May 10th rally in Toronto to oppose the pipeline saw 1500 in attendance, direct actions have continued, and now we have learned that Chippewas of the Thames First Nation is appealing the National Energy Board decision on Line 9 because they were not consulted on the project, as required by the Canadian Constitution.

Momentum is growing, but we have to keep it up!

Last summer, Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne announced that she would put environmental, First Nations’, and community concerns at the forefront of decision-making on Line 9. Yet, despite numerous concerns presented at the National Energy Board hearings, Wynne has done nothing to ensure the various problems associated with Line 9 were addressed.

Please fill out the form below to send Kathleen Wynne a strong message that you expect her to adhere to her commitment and that you demand she conduct an environmental assessment on Line 9 to in order to properly evaluate the risks of project.
